Cataract Surgery

You know what a cataract is?
Think of it the window to your house. When it's nice and clear you can see the beautiful nature outside.
However when it's all foggy then you can't see as clear, like you lens(eyeball lens).
Your lens is mostly made of water and proteins,as you grow older the proteins clump together making it more difficult to see this is called a cataract. Some doctors then do a cataract surgery to remove the lens.
Here what you do before the surgery
-put eye drops in
-wash your eye and the area around it
-small dose of anesthetic in front or behind your eye
-sedative to help you relax
Here is one kind of procedure
Here's the first
1.they first make a tiny incision or cut into your cornea of your eye through a microscope
2.Then make an opening through the capsule
3.Using an ultrasound probe to break the lens
4.A tiny vacuum sucks up the broken lens
5.An intraocular lens will be placed
NOTE:an intraocular lens is made of plastic, silicone or acrylic compounds
6.Then an eye patch is placed over.
You'll remain under surveillance for a short period of time
